Physical Therapy Services

Along with surgical specialties, Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital also offers a full-service physical therapy department to its patients. Lewis & Clark Orthopedic and Sports Therapy has been in operation since November 2003 and since that time, this department has experienced substantial growth due to its focus on the individual needs of each patient.

Our highly trained physical therapists have over 58 years of combined physical therapy experience. Services are provided to Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital inpatients on an acute basis following surgical procedures, and on an outpatient basis at our new facility located just one block north of Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital. We also provide services to athletes at area schools.

Prior to being discharged after surgery, Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital inpatients will reap the benefits of one-on-one physical therapy services immediately following their orthopedic surgical procedures. Whether surgical inpatients undergo a total joint replacement, arthroscopy procedure, back surgery or other orthopedic procedure, we work with our patients to assure that their return home is safe, comfortable, and fully functional.

Outpatient physical therapy is performed on a wide array of medical and post-surgical conditions at our new facility located at 2703 Fox Run Parkway in Yankton. Our state of the art facility is ideal for rehabilitation needs of all kinds. Our highly skilled therapists have access to the best equipment and techniques to help patients return to their full potential. Our therapists work with patients on an outpatient basis to develop an individualized plan of care to suit both the patient’s personal needs and schedule. Our outpatient department is conveniently open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Appointments are made with physician referral and can be billed to all insurance companies.
